Holly Bolinger
SBDC Adviser - Ohio
Holly Bolinger is the Certified Business Advisor at the Ohio Small Business Development Center, Kent State University at Stark. With 20 years of experience in commercial lending and seventeen years of business ownership, Holly is a valuable asset to the Stark and Wayne County areas. Her career began at National Bank of Detroit where she was involved with several segments of commercial lending, including middle market, small business, and asset-based lending. Subsequent commercial lending positions honed her skills in workout/turnaround management and management of commercial lending departments. After leaving banking in 2000, Holly became an entrepreneur, starting a full-service embroidery firm. In 2004, Holly also joined the staff of the Small Business Development Center and successfully completed an intensive certification process. In this position, she assists existing and prospective small business owners with whatever challenges they are facing. Mrs. Bolinger is a past Treasurer and Trustee for Voices of Canton, Inc. (VOCI) and past Board member of the Great Trail Girl Scouts Council and the Jackson YMCA.
JoAnn Di Maggio May
SBDC Adviser - Southern Illinoise
Jo Ann Di Maggio began with the Illinois Small Business Development Center at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville as a Business Specialist in August 2013. Currently, Jo Ann holds the title of Interim Director. The SBDC operates out of SIUE’s School of Business with offices located in Edwardsville and at the East St. Louis Center. Di Maggio earned a bachelor’s in business administration from SIUE in 2005 and followed with an MBA in 2007. Di Maggio’s brothers own Di Maggio Brothers Pizza and Pasta in Highland, IL. Her first-hand experience with both small businesses brings an abundance of knowledge to share with clients assisted through the SBDC.
April Holland
SBDC Adviser - Mississippi
April Holland joined the MS Gulf Coast Small Business Development Center in July 2016. She is a Retired U.S. Navy Human Resources professional, and a serial entrepreneur. April earned a Master Certificate in Organizational Leadership, at Villanova University (PA), and a Master Certificate in Internet Marketing, at The University of San Francisco (CA), with advanced certificates in Social Media, Mobile Marketing and Affiliate Marketing. April is also an Inc. Magazine Military Entrepreneur Program delegate, as well as a graduate of The University of Florida’s Veteran Entrepreneurship Program (VEP), The Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV) at Louisiana State University, and the Patriot Boot Camp by TechStars (PBC). Ms. Holland has served as the “Volunteer Coordinator”, and the “Business Management and Administration Pathfinder” for Pathways2Possibilities, inspiring Mississippi Gulf Coast 8th graders, to consider a career in Business related fields. A lifelong learner, and devoted family woman, April Holland is a leader, determined to “turn ideas into business”.
Lisha Garcia
SBDC Adviser - San Antonio
Lisha García is a Senior – CBA IV Certified Advisor with the San Antonio SBDC. She has been an advisor with the AZ SBDC network as well as with the Austin SBDC. She has extensive experience growing small businesses and was the Austin SBDC Advisor of the Year in 2015. She was honored with the SBA Minority Advocate Award for the State of AZ in 2010. She holds certifications as a Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP), Profit Mastery Facilitator and FranFit Ambassador. Lisha holds a BA from the University of Arizona, and MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts as well as an MIM from Thunderbird School of Global Management. Her expertise includes fundable business plans, franchising, international, marketing, government contracting, strategic growth, Business Model Canvas and business expansions. In addition, Lisha is a widely published poet, a Certified Life Coach and proud member of the International Coach Federation. She primarily works out of the San Antonio SBDC but travels to service Medina, Frio, Wilson and Atascosa counties to assist clients. She is bilingual and bicultural and speaks and trains in both English and Spanish.
Jan Koenig
SBDC Senior Consultant - Texas Gulf Coast
Jan has 30+ years of experience in finance, education, and entrepreneurship. He received his bachelor of industrial engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his master’s degree in business administration from Harvard University. Jan moved to Houston in 1978 after receiving his MBA. From 2003 to 2011, Jan owned and operated a multi-location franchise business operation, during which time he successfully developed two new territories and acquired two other existing operations. Prior to becoming a business owner, Jan held senior management positions with Nations Bank (now Bank of America) and with Compass Bank (now BBVA Compass). Jan also has taught courses in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management as adjunct faculty at Houston Community College. Jan is also a Certified Global Business Professional.
Kim Sherman-Labrum
SBDC Adviser - Idaho
Kim started with the Idaho SBDC in 1998 as the regional administrative assistant as she pursued her degree. After several years, she took over the training program and turned it from an under-performing, deficit program to an award-winning program with a surplus budget. In 2012, she became a business consultant specializing in online marketing, social media, graphic/web design. Over the years, she has designed curriculum and taught classes on a variety of business and technology topics. She planned and executed a rural outreach program that caught the eye of Google and was featured in a video for their Get Your Business Online program. She holds a B.A. in Graphic Design from Boise State University and recently finished the January 2017 Harvard Business School CORe for which she received a Credential of Readiness.
Carol Minor
SBDC Adviser - Hillsborough County, FL
Carol A Minor is the Manager of Entrepreneur Services with Hillsborough County’s Economic Development Department and the Center Director of the Florida SBDC at Hillsborough County. In her present role, Ms. Minor manages a team of five Professional Business Consultants to deliver business management consulting and training to existing and start-up businesses throughout Hillsborough County. A specialist in finance, she helps businesses with financial and cash flow management as well as to gain access to needed capital and helps to identify the best financing option. Prior to joining Hillsborough County’s Economic Development Department in March 2014, Ms. Minor founded and operated GIM Associates, LLC a management consulting and training firm established in 1997 in Philadelphia, PA and relocating to New Tampa Florida in 2010. Previously a bank executive, Carol has over 25 years experience in the financial services industry with nearly 20 years in small business, church and non-profit lending. Ms. Minor is an adjunct professor with Hillsborough Community College and has taught entrepreneurship at Saint Leo University in Florida and several other colleges in the Philadelphia, PA market. Carol holds a Master of Business Administration degree as well as a number of certifications including being certified as a Business Consultant, Curriculum Designer, and Economic Development Financial Professional, FranFit and an Accreditation as a Business Planning Advisor helping individuals planning a business exit strategy.
Kevin Wilson
SBDC Adviser - St. Louis
Kevin Wilson has been a Director of the Missouri Small Business Development Center (SBDC) located in the Greater St. Louis region for Seventeen years specializing in issues dealing with the urban core. There he provides technical assistance to small businesses owners and helps prospective borrowers in developing viable loan packages, tax credits applications, and securing loans. Before coming to the SBDC he worked for the St. Louis Development Corporation underwriting SBA 504 loans, microloans and prescreening bonds deals. Kevin received his undergraduate and Masters Degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Kevin is a certified Economic Development Finance Professional from the National Development Council, certified SBA 504 Loan Packager from the National Association of Development Companies, and a graduate from the Leadership St. Louis class of 2004.
